Kay Buckley has been crocheting for nearly 50 years, she learnt to Crochet as a little girl and over the years she has lost her ‘Crojo’ a few times, but 4 years ago she really fell back in love with it and have not stopped crocheting since. Like a lot of people she would crochet things and give them as gifts to family and friends and then found she was crocheting more and more so decided to start selling at craft fairs and markets. Enjoying the interaction with the public, fellow crafters and talking about crocheting and being amazed that people not only liked her work but bought her creations. Kay joined Craft in Action three years ago and has said that she is in ore at the quality of items all the crafters make and the love and passion they have for what they do. Everything she makes is made with quality yarn which is sourced at a good price, which makes all that she sells affordable. The knack, she says, is to enjoy making the things she sells and has with a wide range of things from hats, scarf’s, ponchos, shawls and household cushions and baskets. Kay is very much a one woman crafter but feels she could not do the rest without the support of her husband Matthew and son Jacob who not only put up with being surrounded by balls of yarn but are her ‘market roadies and technical team’.
