Watercolour Artist

Holding down a very busy ‘day job’ Rowena needed a means of relaxation so she started painting with watercolours over years ago after going to evening classes. She chose watercolours as a medium after being inspired by the watercolours her Great Aunt produced in the Yorkshire Dales, she still uses the same paint box her Aunt gave her but the paints have been replaced many times now. The hobby started to develop when friends began asking her to paint commissions of their homes and she painted her first ‘multi-view’ picture as a wedding present for her brother showing the many views of their village. This style of painting has become very popular with her portfolio now containing many local towns. Most of the pictures on her stall are limited edition prints, but some original painting are also available. A busy lady, in addition to painting she also designs and prints her own calendars, writing paper, note cards, wedding stationery and bookmarks, all featuring local scenes. She continues to paint commissions for people of their homes, or places of interest such as the church they got married in or their wood! You can contact her directly on watercoloursbyrowena@yahoo.co.uk or view some of her work at www.watercoloursbyrowena.co.uk
