Aromahotties

Karen Morris joined Craft in Action in 2018 and has become one of our regular crafters, attending many fairs throughout the year. Her love for sewing came from her grandmother who taught her most of what she now knows. A wheat bag is from her link to farming as her parents were livestock and arable farmers in South Warwickshire where she grew up. In 1993 when her oldest son was a baby she bought her first over-locking sewing machine and has not stopped sewing since. Aromahotties evolved as she tried to make wheat bags different to any others on the market. Wheat bags, with the essential difference, are what she has ended up with and they are all made with a removable washable cover. Choosing new fabrics each year makes the range varied and now includes a wheat bag with dried rosemary. Continuing the homemade/handmade theme the rosemary comes from her own garden which she enjoys growing, picking and drying along with a lavender hedge which gives a good proportion of the lavender used in her lavender pillows. Sharing her knowledge at craft fairs and showcasing her products, explaining the ethos behind having the ability to help people’s life be a little less painful and calmer gives her the satisfaction of knowing that what she makes is a worthwhile enterprise.
